I am a fan of Amazon.com!

I don't usually have the habit of buying things online, unless of course I can't get it in Singapore and I wanted it really badly. My first purchase online was a book, which for some reasons, wasn't available in major bookstores here.

And boy, it wasn't cheap. The book costed me almost S$40 inclusive of shipping, and turns out, the book was only half an inch thick. I was quite sore about it actually, and not to mention, the story wasn't very spectacular either (or maybe I expected more from it cos of the price. heehee)

From then on, I almost swore off buying things online cos the shipping fees can kill man.

I'm recently into reading again and spotted yet another book that I wanted to buy. One of my friends told me to try Barnes and Nobel, cos they charge their shipping in one lump sum and not per piece like Amazon.

Which I did.

So I happily looked forward to my new purchase (I bought 4 books btw) and thought that everything was fine until I realise that I gave the wrong info for the credit charge thingy, which of course resulted in, the order being unable to process.

Ok, I know its not their fault. I thought we could just edit the card details from your order info page at Barnes & Noble, but I was wrong, the only way to edit the info was to give them a call, to the states. I tried calling them but its after their office hours, and I have to wait till Monday.

So I decided to just cancel the order and re-order again, this time, paying with a different card but ship to the same address, and I happily thought that solves the problem. Until I received this seconds after the confirmation email:

I tried this several times and still got the same outcome. Unable to process, but this time, its not about the card details, just don't what is it. I gave up, cancelled my order again and decided to just stick to Amazon.com.

And then I found out that although the shipping charges ae more expensive at Amazon, the prices of the books are much more cheaper than Barnes & Noble, by quite alot.

Barnes & Noble price... So ex!

Amazon's price is so much more cheaper!! (All price terms are in US$). Anyway, the total sum I had to pay for the 4 books I initially ordered from Barnes & Noble was S$150 plus (converted to SGD), inclusive of shipping and handling, which I thought (initially) was quite ok, cos I'm buying 4 books, until I cancelled my order and make my purchases at Amazon.

As you can see, I ended up buying 5 books instead and can yo believe it? Its actually costed about the same as my order of 4 books from Barnes & Noble, and it didn't give me any problems like buying from B & N did.

Ha!! Done! It's so easy, and what's more, see that little "edit" button next to the payment method? Just click that and edit accordingly if you want to made changes to your payment mode, so much more better than having to call the states rite?

I must tell you. I am a fan of Amazon.com now man. Teeheehee.
