Im not really in the mood to blog as I'm in the midst of several projects, tests and not forgetting my increased workload since begining of April. Besides the point. Anyways, one of my rather close colleague's husband just passed away on tuesday.
This obviously came as a shock to all of us in the office as it was really very sudden. It happened in just about three days.
He had a cardiac arrest, and went into a coma which he never woke up from. What shocks us all the most, is the fact that he never had any heart problems or even any known health problems. It just happened. Just like that.
Needless to say, my colleague is devastated. I haven heard from her since the begining of the week, and I seriously have no idea what to say to her when I see her. I'll be going down to her husband's wake tomorrow with a couple of my other colleagues to give her some moral support.
Hell, I'm so afraid that I'll cry when I see her tomorrow. She is known as a sunshine in my department, and I seriously have never seen her sad or anything close to that. Seeing her upset or maybe even crying would probably be too much for all of us.
Digressing, my assistant boss is mad I tell you. He actually told me to call her up on the pretext of consoling her and then get her email password so that we could well, reply her email on her behalf. What the fuck right?? Where got people like that one, you tell me.
I mean, I understand that the world still goes on and that the rest of us still has to work, but there are other ways about it, like say for example, get the IT department to reset her password right??
People's husband just passed away yesterday, and today is the first day, sure busy as hell, where got time to entertain you for matters relating to work?? That's what the compassionate leave is all about what!!
If she thinks she is mentally prepared and ready to go back to work, then she would have decided to come back to work and not take leave right?! Crap.
My GM's secretary also yet another dumb fella. IT department works with black and white, and since my assistant boss is on urgent leave (as so happened that his grandmother in law passed away last week), so the only person who can approve the resetting of password is the next biggest fuck, which is my GM.
Guess what his secretary told me?
**Awful silence on the other end**
Me: "Hey A*****, I need GM's signature to reset her password, its quite urgent.
She: "Huh... how can like that?? what if she comes back and she gets angry that we reset her password? WHY DON'T YOU CALL HER AND ASK HER DIRECTLY FOR HER PASSWORD?? (another dumb fuck)"
Me: "I don't think its a good time to call her and ask her now. Her husband just passed away yesterday and the last thing she needs is to have us calling and bothering her on small issues like email password??!!"
Me: "Besides, she isn't taking any calls or answering any messages at this time, and we are expecting an urgent email from a client."
Me: "Plus, my second head is on urgent leave today, so he mentioned to get GM to sign on his behalf. "
She: "Wahh... he very smart ahh, push the thing to GM, so if she comes back and gets angry about it, then he can just say, oh, GM approved it." -_-
Me (fucking angry and irritated liao) "What do you mean by very smart?? C'mon, we are just here to get something done, something thats a pressing issue now, it just so happens that my second head is on urgent leave and he couldn't help it what!!
Me: "I just need GM's approval URGENTLY cos he's the next biggest shot around. Simple as that. What has this got to do with who's smart and who's not?!?! If you people insist on behaving like that, it will be very difficult to get anything done you know!!"
There. You got it. Why do people behave like that?? Amazes me to find that so many people are more interested in the problem than the solution.
Anyways, so much for the digression. I have no idea how to console her. If it was something else, I could still try, but I seriously am at a loss when it comes to death. Sigh.
Death retains its power to awe.
P/s: Hey guys, help pray for her please?
