Ever since the time I started using a mobile fone till now, I must say that I am quite lucky that I haven't exactly encountered serious (or seriously enough at least) problems with any of my fones.
And so, I seldom visit the customer care centers for mobile fones repairs, replacement and what not. Oh, but I'm quite a regular when it comes to changing of fone casing as compared to the majority anyway.
And so, this marks the very first time I actually got this angry and irritated by the customer care service thingy.
Just the other day, I sent my fone to the Samsung Customer Care Center (the one at Plaza Sing at Level 4) to have the front casing of my fone changed. There was this huge (well, not really) scratch on the front cover which resulted when I put the fone in my jeans side pocket and the metal button made a scatch right across it. Drats!
So anyways, I made my way there after work in the evening, and after waiting for a lllooooooooooonnnnggggggggggg time I finally got to speak to the customer service personnel there. And a STUPID one at that. I told her that I wanted to change my fone casing, and that yes, I am willing to pay (which isn't cheap I must add).
I asked her when could I get my fone back, and she told me that only after 7pm the following day. It's a little long, so trying my luck, I asked her if its possible if I could get it back like lunch time or something. What she said next almost threw me off my chair.
She: "Why don't you come back tomorrow instead?"
Me: "Huh... What... ??"
She: "Usually for changing of casing, if you brought the fone in during daytime, you will get it back in FOUR HOURS TIME"
Me: "But if I left my fone here now, why should it take longer than FOUR HOURS??"
She: "Yah...erm.... yes...cos erm... at this hour, almost all our technicians have gone back already... so..."
Me: "????????"
Now, where's the LOGIC here?? Ok, I UNDERSTAND perfectly that well, its late and that all your technicians have knocked off, and that I wasn't the only customer they had, but what I cannot understand is, why is it that if I brought it in the NEXT day, I can get it back in only FOUR HOURS time???
So you mean to tell me in other words, BECAUSE I brought my fone in earlier, I get to get it back MUCH LATER as in AFTER 7pm???
Or are you trying to tell me that if I brought my fone in the following day, they ONLY NEED FOUR HOURS to get it fixed, but because I brought it in earlier, they suddenly need 24 hours to fucking change a fone casing?!?!?!
I seriously didn't want to argue with her, (from the looks of it, she probably wouldn't get my point anyway) so I just asked her if it would be possible to get it back around lunch time, and she told me probably around earliest after two. Fair enough.
The incident is ffffffaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr from over however. Fast forward to the next day. I'm getting too lazy to type, so I'll just cut the whole episode short. I spent almost my whole afternoon trying to call the customer care hotline to check on the status of my fone, but they keep patronizing me saying its not ready and that they will call me and such.
I called till the customer service main line people knocked off. And still, Plaza Sing outlet DIDN'T call me. Only way is to go down and find out, cos there is NO way I will leave my fone there another day.
Turns out, the fuckers there HASN'T touch my fone. I was so fucking angry I tell you!! The technician even came out to ask me what is it about my fone that made me wanna change it, and told me something to the effect of they hadn't change it till now cos they didn't see what's wrong with my fone and blah blah blah.
Crap. In the first place, I didn't report anything faulty with my fone. Secondly, why do you even need to know WHY I request for a change in the fone casing?? It's not as if changing of casing is free service so you worry about me trying to cheat the company, yaddah... yaddah.. Hello??!! I'm PAYING FOR IT, and it ain't cheap, and still gotta kennah questioned like some criminal being interrogated. -_-
Anyway, good thing I got it back that very evening. That peson had no choice but to do it on the spot for me and it took a grand total of less than 10 mins. Talk about FOUR HOURS indeed, not to mention that TWENTY FOUR hours have already passed can??
Really pissed me off totally.
