My complicated handphone purchase encounter

Just a day before V day, I got my new fone, the samsung E760. (my dad bought it for me *giggles*).

I wonder if that was supposed to come as a consolation for REMAINING unwanted for the 23rd V day.

What? I love this fone and I think its nice, so screw each and everyone of you who think it looks ugly.

Anyways. Back to the Samsung E760. And yes, Samsung AGAIN, (this is my forth Samsung fone) did I ever mentioned that I am HOPELESSLY brand loyal to Samsung?? Even my mp3 player is Samsung also. Wahahaha!!

I was contemplating on which fone to buy, was actually choosing between the Samsung E730 (my fren who sells handphones was promoting the E730 HEAVILY to me) and this. Well, I chose the E760 instead cos I thought it looks better and the E730's design bore some resemblance to my old fone.

General specs of the fone:

* 262k color TFT LCD
* 96MB In-Built memory
* Mp3 player with dual speakers
* Speaker fone
* Video recorder
* Bluetooth connectivity

Cool. There are actually more functions of the fone but I'm too lazy to type it out, probably you can visit Samsung website if you are interested to know.

Anyways. Today is my 2nd day using this fone, and man... It is sssooo sophisticated (because I don't know how to use many of its functions wahahahaha!!) The fone costed S$338 with a 2 yr line (one of the cheapest around) and well, I offset the price after selling my old Samsung to S$218.

I am actually feeling quite guilty about it. Well, the thing is, I used my brother's line to sign for to years to get this fone at the cheaper rate. Initially, we thought that two of our phone lines in the family are due some 2 weeks ago, so just nice, I get a new fone, and my bro would get his when we sign both lines.

*My bro actually changed his fone not too long ago, but decided to change again cos the fone isn't user friendly and all. *

Now the thing is, we forgot the maturity date for one of the phone lines. And turns out, one of them is due only sometime in August this year. I went with my mom and dad to the fone shop, and thinking that the Singtel people most probably made a mistake, my dad told me to go ahead and sign the contact and buy the fone first. My bro's, we will settle later.

Which I did.

To cut the long story short, we spent the whole night calling Singtel, make alot of noise, screw alot of people, and even got my fren (the one who sells handphones) into the picture. Somehow, my dad thinks it had something to do with her shop/company.

I disturbed my poor fren in the middle of the night with smses and calls and probably spoiled her fun at the chalet. Turns out, we made a mistake on the date of maturity. Crap.

A little digression. We actually intended to change my dad's fone, my bro's and mine. My mom wanted my bro's fone, and my dad wanted my mom's, so we planned to let my mom take my bro's old fone, and my dad take hers, while me and my bro buy new fones. Needless to say, my bro cannot buy his new fone until August, and ended up only I bought my new fone, while the rest of my family didn't get anything.

Now I am feeling so fucking guilty. I feel as if I took advantage of the situation (xian xia shou wei qiang) and "cheated" my bro of his phone line.

And not to mention, I dragged my friend into this mess. Sigh. Didn't know that buying a handphone can get this complicated.
