Ever heard of this place?? Heh. To some of you who may have been there before, I guess this sound kinda outdated to you. Actually, I first spotted this little pub at Holland V quite sometime back when I visited Coffee club (yes, I'm a fan of the coffee club there, don't ask me why).
Each time I pass there (on my way to coffee club), I will make a mental note to pay that place a visit sometime, but for some reason, that never quite happened. I still remember my first impression of that place.
As the name "Eski Bar" suggests, its supposed to be a bar that is very cold inside, and I was actually quite skeptical about the whole cold theme. I actually went like, "duhzz, how cold can any place located in Singapore get?" Apparently, I didn't think that our air-comditioners could create that "winter" effect in tropical Singapore.
How wrong was I.
Well, I was there early this week, and it wasn't planned, in fact, we had planned to go to (guess where??) yes, coffee club, but just before we each there, I suddenly decided to drink, and so we dropped in to Eski Club.
I went there with Wanyi and snapped a couple of pictures on my hp, the lightning is not that good tho. Anyways.
Nice heh?
The seats were designed to look like blocks of ice, and everything (almost) is white in color for obvious reasons.
The ambience is quite nice, with tealights at each table, and yes, the air-con is really cccoooollllldddd!! No kidding man...
A bit dark... Look at the waitress, all the waitesses there are dress with thick bubble jackets and hats, and they do somewhat resemble eskimos. Cute sia. Haha! Oh, they also provide jackets for customers who may need them.
We sat around sipping our drinks and had fries for snacks for a couple of hours and found that we were both shivering, haha!
They have another room, called the freeze room (if I remember correctly) and the temperature there is, I tell you... fucking cold. It is literally the temperature of those industrial sized refrigerator except that this one has got wind blowing around!
This picture was taken in the "freeze room" where there is a mini "bar counter". Its not really in use I suppose, and the bar top is made of plastic I think, to give the "ice-block" look effect.
Look, the image looks a little "watery" as the cold air on my camera lens are begining to condense haha!
We went in to the "freeze room" WITHOUT any additional clothing, and its suicide I tell you. I couldn't keep my hand still and was shivering like crazy cos the chilly wind suddenly blew into my face (and my glasses instanteously became blur with fog) as I was trying to take the pictures.
Its overall a nice place, the prices are quite reasonable and the food is quite nice (had the fries, yum yum!!), but I don't think its advisable to go too often lest you fall sick (haha).
Anyways.
