It's amazing what idol worship can lead us to do

Hey guys, anyone catch the finals for the campus superstar competition? The winner is really one with talent and a really good singing voice. Heh.

A little digression. Anyways.

Did you notice how the fans of the contestants seem to be going crazy, ever so crazy over them? Heck, I even saw a couple of them for no rhyme or reason, crying when the contestant starts singing, crying when they take the stage.. what the...?

Which reminds me of the MOST crazy behaviour I ever had over an artise, Leslie Cheung. When he committed suicide, my world seem to have collasped. I cried, lost interest in alot of stuff, and what not. Oh man.

I mean, yeah, its good that they are very supportive of their classmate, schoolmate and whatever, but I think there is a limit to it right?

Or maybe one may say, that they are just young.

I have had my fair share of "idol worship" but I was never this crazy over any of them, I haven't even been to any of those concerts that they hold. I snapped out of "my crazyness" over an artise when I came to realise how foolish it was to be so excited and happy for them.

I mean, when the show or performance is over, they finish their jobs, fulfill their dreams and what about you? What have you accomplished? Make yourself poorer (if you voted for them) Earned yourself a headache from watching too much TV (ok, I know, I'm just as dumb), and you still have the same shit for life. Duhzz.

Not to mention that those people whom you support/back up for/crazy over DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

Ain't a very good bargain. Time to wake up people. Its their job to perform, we just watch, enjoy, be happy, and after that, that's it, no need to go to THAT extent.

On a slightly different note, have you heard of the news of a particular popular Japanese singer who committed suicide a couple of years back, by hanging himself in his hotel room, and how subsequently MANY of his fans died (commited suicide) in the same fashion. *cringes at the thought*

Anyways.
